Welcome to Summit Northwest Ministries
Missionaries and Mission Stories!!! I remember as a kid loving to hear stories from the Mission Field. I know we all have been called to be missionaries where ever we are, but admit it ... there is something exciting and adventurous about hearing stories from places far away. As I got older, I hate to admit it, my fascination with stories from the mission field waned a bit. But recently ... I've discovered a passion for hearing from our missionaries again.
You'll notice a new link at the top of the page. It's called 'Missionary Blogs.' Once you click on this link you'll see what I mean. As I read about Kristina's adventures and challenges in India I cried, I laughed, ... I was filled with hope. What a life changing experience, not only for Kristina, but for those with whom she came in contact and also for me. As I read her blogs my heart was touched. I was changed. You'll want to read her blogs and live her experience with her.
Jeremy just started a blog on his upcoming mission trip to Ethiopia. Now admittedly I'm a little partial to Ethiopia since my dad was born there, but still ... I can guarantee you that when you read about the plans, preparations, open and closed doors that Jeremy is encountering your heart will be filled with a touch of admiration, respect and adventure. It will be exciting to hear from Jeremy on a regular basis as his life is changed in Ethiopia. ... Hey, Jeremy, Abysinnia! (Just a little Ethiopian humor!)
And talking about missionaries ... our sermon series for the next four weeks will be on one of the zanies missionaries of all, Jonah. Talk about weird!!! This guy runs away from God, evangelizes a boatload of pagan sailors, gets swallowed by a fish, is puked out, evangelizes the whole city of Ninevah and then gets mad at God. It's just plain weird. Join us as we learn from his story about living the life of faith that God wants for us to live.
If you love missionaries and you love mission stories check out the blogs for Kristina, Jeremy and Jonah. I bet your life will be changed.
P.S. If you are a missionary or know of a missionary who has a blog, let us know and we'll include it in our Missionary blogs, because after all, you can't get too many good missionary stories! |
